Conditions treated with acupuncture

A resolution recommending the widespread use of such statute has been adopted by the European parliament, but it has no character.  Many private insurance plans also cover acupuncture costs up to a maximum amount per year.

Therapeutic indication of Western acupuncture

Abdominal dissention / flatulence *
Control of acute and chronic pain *
Allergic sinusitis *
Anaesthesia for high risk patients or patients with a history of adverse reactions to anaesthetics
Anxiety, panic attacks *
Arthritis / arthrosis *
Chest pain
Bursitis, tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome *
gastro-intestinal function (nausea and vomiting, oesophageal spasm, hyperacidity, irritable bowel) *
Syndromes of cervical and lumbar spine *

Other sources recommend the use of acupuncture for infertility, through in vitro fertilization.  Acupuncture could improve substantially the success rate of IVF.  It is used in some English speaking countries including the United States
